5 Doctoral Positions (TV-L 13, 65%, duration of 3 years) — DR/032/17
to begin on 1 June 2017. The Research Training Group analyzes small forms from a literary perspective and with regard to the history of knowledge, from antiquity to the present, and concentrates on their functions in different fields of praxis: literature, science, and popular culture. The main focus is on the interrelationships between aesthetic, epistemic, and praxeological aspects of small forms.
Application Requirements
The positions will be awarded to young researchers from the fields of literature, history, cultural and media studies. Applications from abroad are particularly encouraged. Applicants for a doctoral position must be able to demonstrate outstanding accomplishments, in particular in their university degrees (Master, Master of Education, state examinations for teachers, or equivalents).
Applications should include the following materials:
- Summary of the research project (maximum 10 pages, timeline included)
- Reading sample (excerpt from the master’s thesis, 15–20 pages)
- Tabular curriculum vitae
- Copies of academic transcripts
- Applicants who are not native speakers of German or English will need to provide language certificates for German (C1 / DSH 2 / ZOP / TestDaF 4 / DSD II) or English (B2 / IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500-170-80 / Cambridge Examination CEA / 7 years English instruction on a German school)
