Description

The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to:

  • Graduating High School Seniors
  • Community College Transfer Students
  • Undergraduate Students
  • Graduate Students

Awards

Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be of Hispanic Heritage
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for High School Students
  • Minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for College and Graduate Students
  • Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year university, or graduate school, during the FALL of a scholarship cycle (year)
  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
  • Complete FAFSA or state based financial aid application (if applicable)

Other:

  • All majors and graduate fields accepted
  • Emphasis on STEM majors

Do I need an email account to apply for a scholarship?
Yes. Please be sure to periodically check your spam and/or junk email*. All communication regarding students’ status is done electronically; therefore, students are responsible for checking email regularly. *Please note, that each applicant must use his/her own, personal, email address – not a family member’s email address.

Does HSF accept paper applications?
No. Applicants must submit scholarship applications using the MyHSF online application system. Click here to be redirected to our student application site to begin your application.

I am applying to multiple universities. What university should I put on my application?
The scholarship application allows you to list numerous schools. However, you will be required to declare the specific institution you plan to attend in the fall, by May 15th. Once you have made a final decision, log into your MyHSF account to update your profile, as soon as possible. You must attend an accredited, four-year, degree-granting institution during the fall term, in order to remain eligible for an HSF scholarship.

Is there a fee to apply?
No. Scholarship applications should never require a fee.

I missed the priority deadlines, am I too late to apply for HSF scholarships?
No. If your application and recommendations were not submitted by any of the priority deadlines, you still have the option of submitting your application and recommendations by the final deadline of March 30th.

Can I still apply after the March 30th deadline?
No. Once the deadline for the application passes, the application will close and will no longer be available for that academic year.
