About the Mosaic University Fellowship Program

The UofMosaic Fellowship Program is the university campus-based initiative of the Mosaic Institute. The dynamic program invests in student leaders who have a commitment and connection to global issues. It creates a meaningful platform where young people are able to contribute to stronger, more equitable, and peaceful communities on their campuses and around the world.

Fellows are selected from universities across Canada where the Institute is active. In 2016/2017, we will be recruiting Fellows in 9 university campuses: University of Toronto (St. George Campus), University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus), York University, Ryerson University, McGill University, Concordia University, Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, and University of Guelph .

Ti is planned for Fellows on each campus to participate in initiatives. These initiatives are typically connected to current global conflicts or social justice issues that are relevant to the Fellows and their broader student body, and they range from moderated dialogues, to seminars, to art exhibits and more.

Fellows will receive specialized training and access to professional development opportunities throughout their year-long term, including a weekend of workshops and seminars that is held in Toronto. Each Fellow will receive a $1000 personal stipend, and every campus team will have access to another $1000 to support their campus initiatives.

The Mosaic Institute also hosts a biennial ‘Citizen Summit’, open to students across the city in which it is hosted. Each Citizen Summit has a different focus and theme, and is held at one of the university campuses in which we are active. This day-long conference features speakers, exhibits, workshops, and other opportunities for students, UofMosaic Fellows, and the community at large, to explore a particular aspect of global conflict in depth.
