French-Turkish Postdoctoral researcher Fellowship Program
Initiated by the Embassy of France in Turkey and Istanbul Technical University, İTÜ
Following successful collaborations in the field of higher education and research between the French institutions and Istanbul Technical University, the embassy of France has been working on ways to foster new collaboration opportunities. That is why, in order to enhance and maintain this fruitful link, the Embassy of France in Turkey and İTU joint efforts to offer fellowships for 3 Turkish postdoctoral researchers, giving them a chance to start or go further in their research with a French academic institution.
This fellowship program duration will be equivalent to 6 months and the researchers are expected to start their mobility in September 2017. However, this fellowship program could also be an opportunity for the research teams to apply to other programs in order to extend the total duration of the postdoctoral researchers stay in France.
Field of research
The mobility grant program is open to all Turkish researchers at İTÜ, holders of a doctorate (submission up to 3 years after defending their thesis), all disciplines combined. Nevertheless, in order to strengthen joint research projects, priority will be given to the following themes:
- Applied sciences, including engineering,
- Sustainable development (urban planning, construction, architecture, smart city),
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Geosciences,
- Marine studies.
FELLOWSHIP VALUE/INCLUSIONS
- Stipend will be divided in two sections
- 1704€/month for 3 months by the Embassy of France
- 1500$/month for 3 months by İTÜ
- Health insurance
- Salary at İTÜ is maintained during the 6 months mobility program
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
- Being a postdoctoral researcher currently employed at İTÜ
- Being a Turkish citizen
- Being a French and/or English speaker

- A cover letter
- A CV
- The postdoctoral research project with the French partner (maximum 1000 words)
- Two letters of reference (including a letter from the President of the Department or the
Director of the department) - A letter of invitation from the French Research Center hosting (which has to be found by the candidate)
- A copy of the passport or ID
