Pre-call for PhD scholarship at Dublin City University
In the frame of the project: «SHADOW: An exploration of the nature of informal economies and shadow practices in the former USSR region» (for a short description of the project see below)
We are selecting a perspective PhD student to apply for the Government of Ireland scholarship (all EU citizens are eligible) to complete a PhD thesis in the frame of the project under the supervision of Dr Abel Polese
Please note: This is not an offer for PhD funding. We will help you (max 2 candidates) to apply, by offering institutional support and advicing you on research design. The Irish Research Council will then make a decision and, if your application is supported, you will receive a PhD scholarship and support for research expenses to work with us to SHADOW for 2018-2022.
Fields: economic sociology, management and business, human geography, public policy
Topic: informal business practices in the former USSR (preferably with a case study in the Southern Caucasus or Central Asian region)
Deadline: 15 of September 2017 (send CV and one abstract of the topic of your choice to abel.polese@dcu.ie). You are expected to start in September 2018, if awarded the scholarship
In the first instance, applicants are advised to consult the 2018 Terms and Conditions and Guide for Applicants.
