Publish Date: May 27, 2016

Fund details

The Discretionary Fund exists to help eligible students, who are in financial difficulty, to attend their programme of study. Awards from the Discretionary Fund are usually made to assist eligible students with general living and accommodation costs and with essential course costs. Assistance cannot be given towards tuition fees. The Discretionary Fund is not a primary source of income and applicants are expected to have exhausted all other sources of finance available to them before applying. Matriculated students can apply to the Discretionary Fund at any time of the academic year, and it is possible to apply more than once in any academic year if necessary. Applicants must already be a matriculated student at Edinburgh Napier University.

Application process

Once you are a student at Edinburgh Napier University you can apply whenever you need to throughout the year.

Deadlines may be in place before the Christmas/New Year holiday break, but the only time applications close is during mid-July and mid-August each year between academic/financial years.
