Turkish and Black Sea Scholars Fund (for research trip to the UK or Ankara)
Eligibility Summary
Scholars of post-graduate status and above from countries bordering the Black Sea. Research must cover the fields of the arts, humanities and the social sciences.
Application Requirements & Eligibility
It is essential that applicants read the notes of the accompanying word document that presents the details and conditions of the fellowship before completing the online application.
The Turkish Scholars grant is awarded for travel to the UK in order to visit a recognized UK Higher Education Institution and further their research interests (e.g. studying a museum collection, using a university library and/or presenting papers at conferences/workshops); or to travel to the Institute’s premises in Ankara in order to further their research interests by using the collections held at the BIAA’s centre for research excellence. Awards of a maximum of £500 will be offered.
Applications for the TSF fundmust be supported by one referee. Note that you are responsible for ensuring that referee submits the reference by the closing date of the application. Electronic references only will be accepted. The Institute will not contact the referee. Lack of a reference will disadvantage an application.
Applicants wishing to visit the UK are expected to have provisionally organised their visit to the UK prior to applying for BIAA financial support, and are asked to provide confirmation from the host institution in the UK.
