In accepting a scholarship from Regent’s University London, you will be required to sign up to our Scholars’ Charter. The Regent’s Scholars’ Charter sets out both the academic standards to which you will need to adhere and details the ambassadorial role you will take in order to raise the University’s profile.

In addition, you will be offered:

  • A summer internship working in the fashion books marketing department of Bloomsbury Visual Arts, part of Bloomsbury’s academic division
  • Regular mentoring from the marketing manager in Bloomsbury’s Visual Arts department
  • Free access to the award-winning Bloomsbury Fashion Central website
  • A leading role in fashion-related events at Regent’s

This scholarship is awarded through competition.

To apply, you must hold at least an upper second class (2:1) UK honours undergraduate degree (or its international equivalent from a recognised institution).

You must be holding an offer from Regent’s University London at the time the competition closes.

Please submit a 1,000 word essay on the following topic:

Both the fashion and publishing industries are undergoing periods of creative disruption. Discuss the similarities and differences in how these two industries are responding to the opportunities and challenges presented by technological innovation.

The deadline for submissions is 17:00 (UK time) on 31 May 2017. We will not accept late entries.

If shortlisted, you will be invited to interview (face-to-face or Skype) with senior members of staff at Regent’s and Bloomsbury. You will be asked to present the pertinent points from your essay and answer other interview questions.

How we judge the competition

You will need to demonstrate a strong academic background in marketing and/or fashion and a particular interest in the publishing industry.

You must also demonstrate the potential to contribute to Bloomsbury’s reputation as a leading provider of high quality academic fashion books, as well as Regent’s profile as a leading partner of industry in the provision of higher education.

Scholarships and bursaries are limited to one award per student, with the highest value scholarship applying in such cases where one student is eligible to receive more than one award.
