Dutch Language and Culture for Interpreters (C1 -> C1+)
This intensive one-week course is especially designed for interpreters and translators. The course focuses on general Dutch language, culture and contemporary issues in Dutch society. The goal of the course is upgrading the interpreters’ passive knowledge of Dutch through lectures on topical issues, as well as improving their active command of the Dutch language (C-level). After successful completion of the course interpreters receive 25 PE points.
An average day consists of a lecture by a field expert and a Dutch language class, in which the participants will analyse various recordings and read and discuss articles.
The course is suitable for interpreters and translators who have reached C1 level (CEFR). You are required to do a placement test developed by Babel.
The placement test consists of two parts: multiple choice and writing. A teacher will assess your language skills. On the basis of your test result you will get an advice about which course is suitable for you. Please note that it can take up to 5 working days until your language level is assessed.
