Eligibility

  • Students must be holding an offer for a full time MSc programme within the School of Engineering
  • Students must achieve the equivalent of a UK Bachelors (Honours) at 2.1 or above
  • Students must submit an essay of no more than 500 Words covering the key themes outlined in the application guidance by the stated deadline

 

Application Process:

In order to be considered for a scholarship award, students will need to be holding an offer for their chosen MSc programme and submit a 500 word essay which should cover the following: 

Title: EAS Postgraduate Merit Scholarship essay

  • Why Aston University?
  • What skills and qualities will the applicant bring and what makes them special?
  • Future career aspirations – How will the course help them achieve their future goals?
  • How they would act as an ambassador for Aston

Applicants must submit their application by the given deadline. 

International /Overseas Students:           Deadline 31 May 2015 Midnight GMT

Home / EU Students:                            Deadline 30 July 2015 Midnight GMT

No late submissions will be considered

The essay should be submitted in as a pdf or word document to the Postgraduate Admissions team via email seaspgtaught@aston.ac.uk  Please ensure that your Aston student number and full name is included.

Terms & Conditions

  • Draft submissions will not be accepted for review.
  • Only one submission is permitted per applicant no revisions or additional submissions will be accepted.
  • Students must agree to act as an champion for the programme and commit to participate in school activities with the aim of promoting the programme of study. This may include such activities as: Video Testimonial, Student Journey Diary, Webchats or Postgraduate Open Days.
  • The scholarships are only available to students who are self- funded and do not already hold an equivalent MSc level qualification.
  • Only one scholarship award is permitted.
  • All applications will be assessed by a panel and judged according to how well they address the key themes stated within the application guidance, this will also take into account academic performance.
  • The decision of the awarding panel is final and the scholarship is non- transferable and will be given as a discount on tuition fees.
  • Aston Alumni who are eligible for the 20% Alumni discount and are awarded a scholarship will be paid under whichever scheme is of a higher value.
