Hayk Vardanyan Memorial Scholarship 2023 for Armenian Students to Study at ISET, Tbilisi

The memorial scholarship was established in honor of ISET and ICARE alumnus Hayk Vardanyan, who lost his life in November 2020 during the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan.  The scholarship will fully cover tuition of the bachelor’s and master’s degree Programs in Economics at the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET), Tbilisi, Georgia for one Armenian student (with Armenian citizenship).

ABOUT ISET

ISET offers a four-year BA and two-year MA world-class programs in Economics. ISET’s curriculums mirrors world-class graduate economics programs of leading universities in the U.S. and Western Europe and is entirely taught in English by international professors. ISET faculty hold PhDs from some of the world’s top universities, such as Columbia University, Georgetown University, and the University of Pennsylvania; in addition, regular visiting faculty come from renowned institutions from around the world. English is the only language of instruction and communication.

Over the course of the last 14 years, over 50 Armenian students have graduated from ISET, Hayk Vardanyan being one of them. All Armenian graduates have achieved professional success or continued their studies abroad in prestigious PhD programs, such as University of Chicago, Notre Dame and Duke, among others.
Opportunities for students:

Hayk Vardanyan memorial scholarship: the scholarship will fully cover the cost of tuition at ISET’s bachelor’s (USD 3,000) and master’s (USD 2,000) degree programs in economics.

International student exchanges: ISET students have an opportunity to spend a semester or summer with our partner institutions at the partner universities such as Norwegian School of Economics, Clermont-Auvergne University, Stockholm School of Economics and others.

Placement in prestigious PhD programs: Many ISET graduates have succeeded to pursue PhDs with full funding at Stanford University, the University of Chicago, New York University, Washington University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Warwick and the University of Leicester, among others.

Teaching fellows’ program: 70% of ISET graduates become teaching fellows of the CERGE-EI foundation (Czech Republic). All fellows receive pedagogical training in Prague. The graduates teach modern, market-based economics in different universities of the region.

Employment and professional internships: ISET has a 98% employment rate of its alumni for professional and analytical positions. Diverse internship opportunities are offered during studies.
