The course is focused on the description of animal tissue structure within the main tissue type categories, description of the structure of animal organs, interpretation of the relationship between the structure and associated function of tissues and organs. The course will include the theoretical and practical part with histological sections presentation, individual work with permanent microscopic preparations and their documentation.
1. Animal histology and organology - introduction, light microscopy
2.-5. Histology - types of animal tissues, their characteristics and descriptive microscopic examination, structure and associated function
6.-10. Organology - cardiovascular and immune system, respiratory system, urinary and excretory system, gastrointestinal system, nervous and endocrinous system, integumentary system. Characteristics, descriptive microscopic examination, structure and function of these systems.

Course aim
This course falls under Masaryk University's 'Intensive Summer School'. Students will study their classes in the morning and in the afternoon be free to participate in social and cultural activities arranged in and around Brno.
