Hardie Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities (fixed-term, non-stipendiary)

Lincoln College invites applications for a non-stipendiary Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Humanities from 1 October 2021. Applications are invited from scholars working in any of the following areas: Modern Languages, History, English Literature, Philosophy, Art History, Classical Archaeology, Ancient History, Musicology, Classics. The Fellowship is intended to provide a College affiliation for an early-career researcher and must be held in conjunction with a fully-funded research position in the University of Oxford. The Fellowship will be held conterminously with the award supporting the research position, up to a maximum of five years. The Fellow may have the opportunity to undertake some undergraduate teaching or graduate advisory work for the College, for which separate payment will be made at the standard rates, but is not obliged to undertake such duties.

It is expected that the Fellow will be resident in Oxford for a significant proportion of the academic year and that they will take advantage of the opportunities presented to engage in the academic and social life of the College.

Salary and allowances include a nominal statutory sum of £300 per annum. Any undergraduate teaching, or advising of graduate students undertaken for the College will be paid separately at the standard rates.

The College will also make available to the Fellow a range of allowances and benefits including full common room rights, including free lunches and dinners whenever the College kitchens are open; access to discretionary research funds administered by the College; and eligibility to apply for single-occupancy College accommodation, at his or her own expense, should such accommodation be available.
