Scholarships and Awards Programs

Maryville College provides generous scholarship and award opportunities to deserving students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic information, student interest, student leadership and/or talent. In instances where a candidate qualifies for more than one scholarship, the student will receive the largest scholarship for which they are eligible. In cases where students are eligible to receive more than one award, the total cannot exceed tuition and fees.

Academic Scholarship Information

Follow these simple steps to apply for admission, for scholarships and to learn more about MC.

  • Submit an application for admission.
  • Send your high school transcript, including senior year courses, and test scores.
  • No formal scholarship application required for the Academic Scholarships, it is considered part of the college application process. Students who qualify will be notified. Additionally, after a student is admitted, they may apply for the Competitive Fellowships/Scholarships/Awards listed in those sections below.
  • Arrange a campus visit to learn as much as you can about the MC experience.
  • GPA = weighted
    SAT/ACT scores include superscore; SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Math)
    CLT = Classic Learning Test
Program & Eligibility Criteria Financial Value

Presidential Scholarship

30+ ACT or 1390+ SAT or 92+ CLT and 3.8+ GPA. Requires a commitment of four semesters as an Academic Mentor.
$23,000 per year on-campus.  $18,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.0 GPA.

Dean's Scholarship

26+ ACT or 1240+ SAT or 81+ CLT and 3.5+ GPA. Requires a commitment of three semesters as an Academic Mentor.
$22,000 per year on-campus. $17,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA.

Maryville College Scholarship

24+ ACT or 1160+ SAT or 76+ CLT and 3.0+ GPA.
$21,000 per year on-campus. $16,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.5 GPA.

MC Scots Scholarship

3.0+ GPA or 19+ ACT or 980+ SAT or 64+ CLT
$19,000 per year on-campus. $14,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.
Additional Scholarships (Based on State Residency) Financial Value

TN Hope

Awarded to first-year TN students that have a 3.0+ unweighted GPA OR 21+ ACT composite score OR 1060+ SAT composite score.

Families must file the FAFSA in order to receive the TN HOPE Lottery Scholarship.
$3,500 - $5,000 per year

Out-of-State Award

Awarded to out-of-state students with
a 3.0+ GPA or 21+ ACT or 1060+ SAT or 68+ CLT.
$2,000 per year
Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.
