ZEISS Photography Award 2019 "Seeing Beyond – The Unexpected "
Pushing the limits of creativity
The ZEISS Photography Award is now in its fourth year – and is calling on ambitious photographers from across the globe to present their work around the theme “Seeing Beyond – The Unexpected” to the international jury of experts. The ZEISS Photography Award is jointly organized by ZEISS and the World Photography Organisation. Last year, 12,000 photographers from 140 countries submitted nearly 90,000 photos.
Photographers are asked for a creative response to the brief "The Unexpected" that is driven by a strong and clear narrative. To be understood in its broadest sense, "The Unexpected" challenges photographers to submit a series of 5-10 images that look past the everyday and address something unforeseen or surprising – whether this is through the landscape and the physical environment, through human expression, emotion and interaction, through political or social causes or something more conceptual. The 'unexpected' element could be of global or very personal concern and may either showcase the familiar in a new way or shed light on something entirely different. All types of photography are welcomed by judges.
2018 ZEISS Photography Award
Garden of Delight, a stunning photography series by Belgian photographer Nick Hannes, has been revealed as the winner of the 2018 ZEISS Photography Award "Seeing Beyond – Untold Stories", alongside nine shortlisted photographers. The work of all shortlisted photographers and Nick Hannes will be exhibited at Somerset House, London as part of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition from April 20 - May 6, 2018.

1.3 All Content on the Site remains the property of the World Photography Organisation, or, in respect of certain images, the author of the image.
1.4 You may retrieve and display Content on a computer screen, PDA or mobile telephone, and store temporary copies of the Content in electronic form on hard drive, disk or on your PDA or mobile telephone for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not store permanent copies of the Content in any form. You may not store any copies of the Content on any server or other storage device connected to a public or open network whereby such Content may be viewed or retrieved by any third party.
1.5 You may not use the Site for the posting, uploading, emailing or other transmission of any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation or commercial exploitation;

Any communication or material You transmit or post will be (a) treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary by the World Photography Organisation, (b) become the property of the World Photography Organisation and the World Photography Organisation shall exclusively now and hereinafter own all rights, title and interest therein, and (c) used without restriction by the World Photography Organisation or its affiliates or any Event Partners at its sole discretion without any obligation, compensation or other liability to You. Such use may be for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, reproduction, disclosure, transmission, publication, broadcast and posting whole or in part, in any medium and in any manner on this Site or otherwise. the World Photography Organisation shall be under no obligation to respond to any such communication.
