Tips for Writing a Letter of Motivation

There are no specific requirements for the letter of motivation. However, good examples usually attempt to answer at least the following four questions:

  1. Why do you want to participate in the TSAA program?
  2. In which area(s) and in what functions have you been active in the fine/performing arts/design/architecture/art history/contemporary art?
  3. What do you expect to gain from the course you are applying to?
  4. How do you plan to apply the knowledge learned during the TSAA program upon completion of the course, after returning to your home city/country and/or university/job?

The (Estonian) embassy or consulate in the applicant’s country of origin can issue visas. Upon successful registration and full payment of the corresponding course fee(s) the applicant will receive an official invitation through mail and/or email on enquiry. The applicant in question is responsible for finding out if they must apply for a visa to enter Estonia. The homepage of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( entails further information. It is strongly recommended that the applicant submits the visa application as early as possible due to long processing times in the  embassies/consulates. The TSAA is in no way responsible for the issuance/acquisition or approval of visas.
