University of Cambridge LL.M offer to HENQ founder Stepan Khzrtian

Publish Date: Sep 28, 2010

There is hardly anyone among Armenian youth who doesn’t know Stepan Khzrtian.  Repatriating to Armenia in 1999, he has recently graduated from the American University of Armenia Master of Law program with a final result of 4.0 out of 4.0 for the LLM (Master of Law) and received an offer of admission for the LL.M program at the University of Cambridge, U.K.

I first came to know Stepan when he was studying at the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of International Relations, YSU. He motivated the youth with his speech about the “Hye Yerak Youth Club” NGO, founded by his peers and himself at the symposium “MDG in Armenia and Students’ Concept” which I organized in November 2006 at YSU.

With his tendency of making people enthusiastic about ideas, Stepan co-founded the HENQ Youth Initiative with his friends in 2007, based on the experience and activities of the “Hye Yerak Youth Club” NGO as well as the HENQ Initiative within the framework of SYL. He has been the Secretary-General of the AUNA (Armenian UN Association) Youth branch as well as a strong activist of the AUA Debate Club, later founding several debate clubs himself.

Stepan Khzrtian is sure to make a difference in Armenia and I’ll boast about the fact that in 2007, I participated together with Stepan in the Momentum “Training of the Trainer” Workshop Program co-organized by Mercy Corps Conflict Management Group in Harvard, Massachusetts, USA and the School for Young Leaders, Armenia.
