UCLA Armenian Graduate Students Association (UCLA AGSA) hosts ARMACAD!

ARMACAD member Ms. Sona Tajiryan, currently a PhD student at UCLA Department of History will open the meeting and shortly introduce the purpose of the gathering as well as a short introduction to each presentation.
The founder of ARMACAD Khachik Gevorgyan (Assistant Professor at the Department of Iranian Studies, Yerevan State University, currently a visiting scholar at Stanford University) will introduce the Armenian Association for Academic Partnership and Support, the projects so far implemented by this association, its future plans as well as academic networks operating through it, such as ARMACAD, ArmenianStudies and ARTACAD. ARMACAD is an organization which operates without any financial support merely on voluntary basis. Thus Dr. Gevorgyan will particularly mention the organizations which never supported ARMACAD’s grant applications.
Merujan Karapetyan, the Head and Founder of the Digital Library of Armenian Literature (www.digilib.am) will present the Digital Library of Armenian Literature and will touch upon the enrichment of the global web and social networks with the Armenian content. He will join us via skype from Armenia. On the example of the Digilib Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/digilib) he will stress the crucial importance of the representation of the Armenian literature, arts and science in global web networks.
Armenian Entrepreneur Dr. Ruben Mirakyan, who is the Founder and Director of Armenian iBooks will join the gathering via Skype from Armenia and will introduce Armenian iBooks to the participants of the event (https://www.facebook.com/ArmenianeBooks).
