The Department of Iranian Studies is pleased to invite you to the Eighth International Conference on Iranian Linguistics, organised by the Department of Iranian Studies of Yerevan State University (Armenia).

The ICIL conferences aim to bring together linguists and philologists of different theoretical backgrounds working on Iranian languages. There are only plenary sessions during the conferences in order to allow participants to attend all presentations.

The selection of abstracts is thus necessarily strict (usually some 35-40 abstracts, plus ca. 10 posters out of far more than 100 submissions).

The Conference will be held in October 11-13, 2018.

Venue: Yerevan State University, Yerevan, Armenia.

Scholars and postgraduate students are invited to submit papers relating to all aspects of Iranian Linguistics, including:

General Linguistics

2.      Historical Linguistics

3.      Comparative Linguistics

4.      Dialectology

5.      Sociolinguistics 

6.      Typological Studies

7.      Methodology

8.      Semiotics

9.      Other Linguistic Subjects

 

DEADLINE:  Abstracts must be in .docx, .doc, or .pdf formats, no longer than 700-800 words with examples and references in a Unicode-compatible font. 

Submissions should be in English and sent in two versions, one anonymous and one including the full name and affiliation of the author(s). 

Abstracts will be anonymously referred by members of the scientific committee. 

Submissions are limited to one single-authored and one co-authored paper per person.

Armenian Visa:

List of countries, whose nationals are unilaterally exempted from the requirement of obtaining a visa.

List of countries, with which Armenia has a visa-free regime according to bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Holders of all other national passports and travel documents, including UN Laissez-Passer, are required to obtain an entry visa.

List of the countries whose citizens can obtain Armenian visas upon arrival in Armenia.

List of countries , whose nationals  could apply for visitor visa only with an invitation.

Participation fee:

The conference fee is 70€. It includes participation, coffee breaks, lunches, closing ceremony dinner and cultural program. The fee must be paid in cash at the time of registration.

Accommodation:

Conference organisers will facilitate the reservation process at hotels in Yerevan and will provide any other assistance needed. We have pre-booked rooms at some hotels close to the conference venue with special rates for conference participants. You are of course free to choose any other accommodation using websites such as Booking.com, Airbnb or other similar services.

Excursions։

At the end of each conference day a small excursion will be organised for the participants. It is planned to visit some of the main highlights of Armenian cultural sights.
