CFP: Diaspora Studies Graduate Workshop Programme 2017/2018:

University of Edinburgh

The Diaspora Studies graduate seminar programme invites proposals for the next academic session (both first and second semesters).  This series of seminars provides an excellent opportunity for doctoral candidates and ECRs to meet and discuss their work in an informal setting.  In the past, we have tended to focus on the Scottish Diaspora but equally we welcome papers on any diaspora-related subject.

The seminars are held fortnightly in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology in the William Robertson Wing of the Old Medical School, Teviot Place, at the University of Edinburgh.  They generally take place on alternate Tuesday lunchtimes and last approximately one hour.  The format comprises a thirty minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session.  In 2017/2018, the series will begin on Tuesday 3 rd October 2017.

If you would like to speak at the diaspora graduate seminar on any diasporic topic, please contact Alastair Learmont at amlearmont@gmail.com by Monday 14 August 2017.
