Migrations from the Near East to Europe and Repercussions for Armenia

On November 11, 2015 the Caucasus Institute in cooperation with the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and Friedrich Naumann Foundations will hold a roundtable on Migrations from the Near East to Europe and Repercussions for Armenia.

The presenters will be Ilona Ter-Minasyan, Head of the International Organization for Migration Office in Armenia, and Hrant Mikaelyan, Researcher at the Caucasus Institute.

Presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion.

Main topics of the workshop:

  • How are European states and the EU as a whole coping with the current migration wave,
  • How does migration from Syria, Iraq and other Near Eastern states affect Armenia?
  • Is it possible to make forecasts?
