The International Institute of Forecasters, International Monetary Fund, American University and GW’s Research Program on Forecasting are jointly planning a workshop on “Forecasting Issues in Developing Economies” in Washington, DC on April 27-28, 2017.
Workshop Aim
Forecasting in developing economies is an important topic where little has been written due to data limitations and other challenges. The workshop aims to draw together a small group of experts from around the world, to present and discuss the latest advances in predicting economic and social development in developing countries. The topics include, but are not limited to, forecasting poverty, climate change, GDP growth, inflation and uncertainty in economic forecasting.
Keynote Speaker
Kajal Lahiri (University at Albany, SUNY) will deliver the keynote address.
IJF Special Issue
Selected papers from the workshop may be subsequently published in a special issue of the International Journal of Forecasting, subject to the agreement of editor.
