Doctoral Training at the Faculty of Humanities - How to Apply

The application periods for doctoral studies at the Faculty of Humanities during the academc year 2019-2020 are 

  • From 2 to 20 September, 2019 (Salaried positions and the right to pursue a doctoral degree. The study right begins 1 January 2020) 
  • From 2 to 20 March 2020 (The right to pursue a doctoral degree. The study right begins 1 August 2020)

Important information for international applicants
The applicants that have a Master’s degree from outside the University of Turku must also supply the following documents: copy of the previous degree certificate, along with a copy of the transcript of records or other qualifications.

Please keep your degree certificates and other relevant educational documents at hand during the application process. 

Those applicants who have been granted the right to study and who have completed their studies at a university abroad have to submit original or officially certified copies of the degree certificates, other educational documents and the official translations of the documents to the University of Turku by the date given in the letter of approval. Please note that the schedule for submitting the documents after the notice of acceptance is very tight.
