PhD fellowship in artificial intelligence and functional data analysis
We are offering a PhD fellowship with a special focus on artificial intelligence and functional data analysis commencing on June 1st 2021 or as soon as possible hereafter. The PhD student is expected to apply and develop statistical methods using artificial intelligence and machine learning combined with functional data analysis to associate ECG (electrocardiogram) data to clinical outcomes from Danish registry data with a focus on prediction models.
Project description
The project will focus on a PhD project in biostatistics and data science. The PhD project aims at developing AI software that can provide clinically relevant predictions of different health outcomes based on data from ECG measurements. The data material consists of around 106 ECG signals measured on Danish citizens that must be associated to different clinical outcomes from Danish registry data. The ultimate goal is to develop an AI algorithm that for a given ECG measurement can deliver predicted risk probabilities for different health outcomes. The PhD candidate will be involved in the methodological development aimed at combining functional data analysis with modern methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning as well as the applied data analysis of the millions of ECG signals available.
Principal supervisor is Associate Professor Andreas Kryger Jensen, Section of Biostatistics, e-mail: aeje@sund.ku.dk, tel. 35 32 67 35, Principal co-supervisor is Professor Thomas Alexander Gerds, Section of Biostatistics, e-mail: tag@sund.ku.dk, tel. 35 32 79 14.
Start: June 1st 2021
