The PHmuseum Grant is an international photography contest that aims to finance photographers and bring recognition to emerging talents.

Prizes

The international jury will award $4,000 in cash prizes, including the New Generation assigned to the best story submitted by a photographer under the age of 25. Max Pinckers, Diana Markosian, Tomas Van Houtryve and Clementine Schneidermann are among the winners of the Grant's previous editions.

Jurors

The PHM 2016 Grant prizes will be assigned by a distinguished panel of jurors. Applying to the competition will offer you the opportunity to have your work reviewed by some of the industry’s most influential names.

In the past few years our panel of jurors included professionals like Martin Parr, Kira Pollack, Alec Soth, Iata Cannabrava, James Estrin and Christopher Anderson.

Entry

Each participant can submit up to one “Series”, defined as a set of photos built around a concept or a topic, often intended to tell a story. The Series must feature a minimum of 8 photos and a maximum of 20 photos that will be taken under consideration by the PHM 2016 Jury. The photos must have been shot from January 2010 onwards and at least 4 photos must have been taken after January 1st 2015.

Eligibility

Participants must be at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. The contest is open worldwide.

How to Participate

  1. SIGN UP: There is no entry fee, but you need to apply for a photographer account in PHM curated community in order to present your work. If you pass PHM curators selection, you will be able to upload your stories and submit to the Grant.
  2. UPLOAD YOUR STORY: Present a series of maximum 20 photos accompanied with an explicatory text in English. At least 4 photos must be shot after January 1st, 2015. The recommended photo size is at least 900px on the short side.
  3. REVIEW AND SUBMIT: Review your story, being aware that you will not be able to apply any changes after you have submitted it. The international jury will review the submissions, with winners to be announced in July 2016.
