The 2nd CoreNet Global Academic Challenge For Corporate Real Estate

Publish Date: May 17, 2016

Deadline: Sep 02, 2016

Today’s students are tomorrow’s talents!

CoreNet Global is pleased to announce the 2nd CoreNet Global Academic Challenge sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield. The goal of the competition is to raise awareness of corporate real estate as a viable career opportunity for students around the world. This year, we are especially excited to invite students from around the world to participate in one of two competitions to be held in both Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Shanghai, China. We invite you to learn about corporate real estate (“CRE”) and apply your insights and experience to a problem facing the profession.

THE CURRENT CHALLENGE

The balance of power is shifting from the employer to the employee. Years ago, few organizations cared about the employee experience because they had little input. Corporations assumed people would work in any place they provided; however, they are now realizing that they must create a “place” where people want to succeed and thrive. This notion has evolved from simply providing a desk and a chair, to a more holistic approach which addresses emotional, intellectual, physical, and virtual needs – among others. Catered meals, onsite healthcare, attractive office spaces, modern technology, and flexible work programs may all seem like passing fads, but many companies leverage these as strategic business initiatives. These experiences are becoming part of a company’s culture and ultimately their brand.

Today’s students are tomorrow’s talent. In order for organizations to attract and retain future talent, more insight is needed. Understanding what experiences contribute to a student’s success can inform what companies might provide to help their employees succeed.

The competition is open to students of all disciplines pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree at a recognized degree-awarding institution, such as a University, Grande Ecole, College or Fachhochschule, hereafter referred to as “University,” on a full-time or part-time basis. Each student must be currently enrolled in classes at their host university throughout the competition, and not have more than 5 years prior professional experience.

The competition is open to teams of four (4) to six (6) students from the same institution. Team members may be from different academic programs within the institution, but all team members must matriculate (be registered) at the same institution.

Interested students should review the rules in their entirety before completing an application. Completed applications should be emailed to: academicchallenge@corenetglobal.org
