2016 Taiwan International Student Design Competition
The worldwide second largest international student design competition, is calling for submission on June, 1st!
Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) is organized and conducted by Youth Development Administration of Ministry of Education. TISDC has been held since 2008 and has entered its 9th year. TISDC is highly recognized as the objective principle of jury system via inviting international design scholars and well-known designers. According to the 2015 statistics from TISDC’s report, the participation of 2015 TISDC consisted of more than 50 worldwide nations and received 30,000 pieces of artwork. Furthermore, the total reward of TISDC is up to NT$4,600,000 (approximately US$150,000) in 2016 which the Grand Prix is NT$400,000 (approximately US$13,000) and free of registration fee. In response to the growing number of the entries, TISDC further cooperates with up to 15 acclaimed international design associations to authorize awards and provide a total of more than 50 awards which is sponsored by the honorable Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation. International and Domestic students enrolling in high schools or above are welcome to participate in TISDC.
Successful applicants hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, medicine or related fields. Applications from students who are nearing graduation are also welcome.
We accept applications of candidates who have not started their PhD project yet and who have a Master´s degree or a forecast with grade B+ or better.
Women are particularly encouraged to submit applications as 3 PIER PhD positions shall be filled with female PhD students in physical sciences
