Support to Exhibition Projects International Visual Arts for Portuguese Artists Abroad, 2016

Publish Date: Jun 29, 2016

Deadline: Jul 31, 2016

Regulations

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation project lends support to exhibition projects (solo or group exhibitions) by Portuguese artists abroad. Consideration will be given to exhibition projects which are curated and/or which involve an international institution or structure for the promotion and production of art. In this case, the requests must be formulated directly by the institutions involved. The programme does not support the participation of Portuguese galleries at international art fairs.

1. Eligible candidates:

Proposals presented by professional cultural institutions or structures and by Portuguese or foreign artists resident in Portugal will be considered.

2. How to apply

Applications to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation must obligatorily be submitted online via its website www.gulbenkian.pt. The documentation required to complete the applications must be sent via My-file (a personal folder is automatically created when the corresponding application is validated) in PDF or JPG format with a maximum file size of 2MB.

3. Application requirements

3.1 a detailed budgetary estimate;
3.2. updated curricula vitae for the proposers of the project;
3.3. a schedule for the project;
3.4. the synopsis and aims of the proposal;
3.5 a letter of invitation from the body hosting the exhibition and the corresponding financial contributions.
3.6. Up-to-date photographic documentation of recent work: in exceptional cases, it may be handed to the reception at the CAM, or sent by post, identified by the process number, printed documentation (catalogues, brochures...) and/or DVDs;
3.7. The application processes will only be eligible for analysis when they are complete.

4. Application deadlines:

Applications must be submitted within a minimum period of 90 days in relation to the date of execution of the projection and/or inauguration of the exhibition. Applications are considered four times a year, during the last week of the months of January, April, July and October.

5. General considerations:

  •  The support provided serves as an incentive and is intended to partially fund
     budgeted expenses for each project.
  •  Each proposer can only receive support once a year.
  •  Requests for retroactive support are not accepted;
  •  The person responsible for each project must submit, via My-file, a detailed
     report on the activity undertaken no later than 45 days after the date on which the project is realised.
     Failure to observe this clause will adversely affect the awarding of future support.
