Scottsdale International Fine Art Competition 2016, USA

Publish Date: Feb 10, 2016

Deadline: Apr 30, 2016

The Scottsdale Biennale - http://www.scottsdalebiennale.com/submit.html invites artists from around the world to participate in an international art competition for a chance to win valuable industry accolades and prizes that will advance their career as an artist. Judged in the historic Art District of Downtown Scottsdale, three annual competitions are held honoring different artistic mediums, with the goal of celebrating fine art, discovering new talent and, and challenging artists to master their craft.

Where
Scottsdale has gained international notoriety as an art hotspot for artists and collectors alike. The historic Arts District on Main St. in Downtown Scottsdale has held its own on the art-map since the early 1960s. Today it is now one of the highest concentrations of art and talent nationwide, with over 120 galleries showcasing over 1,000 artists, and one of the nation's largest art markets revenue-wise -- comparable even to New York City. With original art from every genre and a variety of mediums, there's something for everyone in the Scottsdale Arts District.

Why
Showing work is the one of the best ways to challenge oneself and improve as an artist. History points to the importance of art showcasing and competition for artists looking to have their work recognized in a competitive environment. Named after the world-famous Venice Biennale - http://www.labiennale.org/en/Home.html which started in 1895, the Scottsdale Biennale aims to do just that. From its inception in 2009, over $30,000 in cash prizes and accolades have been awarded to the winners, in an effort to give artists an opportunity to develop their art, their career, and receive recognition for their talent and hard work. Additionally, the Scottsdale Biennale offers invaluable exposure for our artists in the form of publicity and an artist showcase where finalists are invited to sell their artwork in an 4-8 week long exhibition at Wee Gallery of Fine Art on Main St. in Downtown Scottsdale. Being in great company with the Scottsdale art community offers coveted industry exposure and has unlimited potential for the career of any artist.

How
After submitting your artwork, a panel of qualified judges will decide on which pieces truly deserve to be recognized. Once the finalists are chosen, they are invited to send in their artwork to be judged in person and showcased during the exhibition at Wee Gallery. Once the winners are selected from this group of finalists, artists will be contacted and invited to attend the award ceremony.

We look forward to discovering new artwork and are thankful for the opportunity to showcase and help artists succeed in the industry.
