Scientific Referent Position at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam-Golm
The Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (or Albert Einstein Institute, AEI) is a worldwide, leading research institute in the field of gravitational physics. About 120 scientists from all over the world work at the AEI headquarter in Potsdam-Golm. The AEI has also another campus branch in Hannover.
The Potsdam-Golm AEI is looking for a highly motivated and engagedScientific Referent who will support the division’s directors in Potsdam-Golm. The position is limited to three years.
The Scientific Referent will serve as an interface between the Directors, the Service Departments and the General Administration at the Max Planck Society in Munich. He/she will help the internal and external communication and will screen it regarding relevant information for the institute. He/ she will also initiate forms of cooperation with the General Administration (e.g., seeking for new opportunities and applying for additional funds), with the Universities in Potsdam and Berlin areas, and with the European Research Community. He/she will also help the directors to prepare and apply for scientific projects in German and English, and will coordinate scientific workshops.
Pre-condition is a university degree (master or preferably PhD) in physics, chemistry, mathematics or computer science. Moreover, it is preferable if the candidate has already management experience in public-funded research institutions or other non-profit organizations. An indispensable requirement for the candidate is to speak and write in excellent English and German.
The salary’s contract will be TVÖD and will include standard employee benefits for public service.
