Uppsala University is an international research university focused on the development of science and education. Our most important assets are all the individuals who with their curiosity and their dedication make Uppsala University one of Sweden’s most exciting work places. Uppsala University has 40,000 students, 7,000 employees and a turnover of SEK 6,5 billion.
Project description
This PhD project, which will be conducted within the Computational Materials Chemistry research group (www.teoroo.kemi.se) within the Structural Chemistry program, concerns the development of methods and models (force-fields and approximate quantum-chemical methods) for large-scale simulations of chemically reactive inorganic materials in solution. The goal of the research is to develop an understanding of chemical processes occurring at liquid/solid-state interfaces.
The research group is active within the new European Materials Modelling Council and within CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire) as well as within the Swedish strategic research programme eSSENCE, which focuses on e-science and modelling.
