We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual for an Berliner Institute of health (BIH) funded PhD position in the team of Dr. Zsuzsanna Izsvak, the head of the Mobile DNA laboratory at the Max Delbrueck Centrum for Molecular Medicine at the Helmholtz Society, Berlin, Germany. You will join an exciting research program of “Epigenetic disturbances contribute to the etiology of Preeclampsia (PE)”.
Preeclampsia (PE) is a severe cardiovascular disease, affecting ~8% of human pregnancies. PE is a leading cause of maternal and perinatal mortality. Deregulation of imprinted genes, endogenous retroviruses (ERVs), and non-coding RNA contributes to an abnormal transcriptome, resulting in aberrant placentation. The project aims at deciphering how epigenetic abnormalities disturb a proper cross-talk between maternal and foetal in PE.
Check website of the laboratory of Mobile DNA www.mdc-berlin.de/1153597for recent publications and for running projects in the lab.
