Additional English language training
If you do not meet the English language requirements for direct entry to the International Foundation Year the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) International Study Centre (ISC) offers an English Language Preparation (ELP) course.
Entry requirements
If you have an IELTS level of 4.0, or equivalent and want to study International Foundation Year, you will need at least one term of ELP. The course will improve your English language skills to the required IELTS level. Once you complete your ELP programme, and achieve the required grades, you progress to your programme at the LJMU ISC.

You will be introduced to the teaching and assessment approaches used in the University. You will be taught academic writing conventions, listening skills, grammar and vocabulary development, presentation techniques and seminar skills, as well as analytical and problem solving skills.
