Position Description: The Department of the Classics seeks applications for a College Fellow in Ancient History. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2019. The Fellow will be responsible for three courses, comprising either three undergraduate courses or two undergraduate courses and a graduate seminar, with 25% of the appointment reserved for the Fellow’s own research. The Fellow may also advise and evaluate senior theses or conduct reading courses with graduate students, and contribute to the supervision of graduate research.

Doctorate or terminal degree is required by the start of the 2019–­­20 academic year, and must have been received no earlier than 2015. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Complete applications, including letters of reference, must be submitted by March 15, 2019.

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate in Ancient History or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching is desired.

South Asian Studies

Position Description:  The Department of South Asian Studies seeks applications for a College Fellow in the field of modern and contemporary South Asian studies broadly construed. We are seeking a candidate whose work is grounded in at least one South Asian language and engages substantially with the humanities or qualitative social sciences. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2019. The College Fellow will have teaching responsibilities, with 25 percent of the appointment reserved for the Fellow’s own research. Teaching duties will include three undergraduate courses at the introductory and intermediate levels. The Fellow may also advise and evaluate senior theses and participate in the junior tutorial program. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, contingent on performance, position availability, curricular need, and divisional dean authorization.
