Ljubljana Poster Award
The City of Ljubljana and the Golden Drum Festival invite you to take part in a traditional competition for the best and most creative poster, this time on the topic.
About
Ljubljana is a city of sport where the number of sports enthusiasts is growing each year. Participation in mass sport and recreational events, such as the Ljubljana Marathon, the March along the Barbed Wire with a three member team run and Marathon Franja, is growing rapidly. The Ljubljana Sport and Leisure Facilities Institute manages more than 90 sports facilities.
With new acquisitions and the provision of conditions for sport and recreation Ljubljana is increasingly recognised in the international environment and is therefore hosting major sporting events (in 2013: European Basketball Championship EuroBasket, World Junior Judo Championship, Canoe Slalom World Cup, in 2014: Amateur Road World Championship with participants from 44 countries). In 2010, UEFA ranked Stožice Football Stadium among the three most beautiful in Europe. In 2013, a new Hiša športa na Bregu (“House of sports”) was opened. In 2015, the oldest city swimming pool complex - Kolezija was completely renovated and a modern Gymnastics Centre Ljubljana was opened.
With annual sports programmes the Municipality of Ljubljana is actively contributing to the physical education of preschool children, school-age children, pupils, students and adults. It co-finances sports clubs and their programmes and enables free use of halls and courts. Ljubljana encourages its residents to spend their leisure time actively with new recreational and green areas – the once degraded area along the river Sava was converted into a recreation and education centre (promenades, playground, picnic areas, small animal farm, equestrian sports) with cycling and walking paths. Newly established trim trails, outdoor fitness and trim islands evoked a lot of enthusiasm from all generations and are already well visited.
Particularly stands out the Trail of Remembrance and Comradeship. It is the largest continuous green area in Ljubljana and is extremely popular for walking, running, cycling and other sports activities. More than 32 km long path is the Green Ring of Ljubljana and the longest city avenue with 7,000 trees, numerous memorials, resting areas, drinking fountains and other arrangements. In 2016, the 60th March along the Barbed Wire with a three member team run was held on the City of Ljubljana Day.
BRIEF
Make a poster that represents Ljubljana as a city of sport on a number of green areas. The poster should be designed so that the idea enables a series of posters and use on all the necessary communication channels (digital media, print ads, etc.).
Target group: residents and visitors of Ljubljana.

Encourage residents and visitors of Ljubljana to engage in sport activities in nature, since Ljubljana has a lot of green areas (more than 542 m2 per resident or 90 hectares of new green areas that were created from previously degraded areas).

Requirement
Create posters for CITY OF LJUBLJANA on the topic "CITY OF LJUBLJANA IS GREEN FOR YOU. GET ACTIVE, GET FIT!". You can use the photo materials made available at our website, your own photo material, illustration or fictional image.
The application of advertiser's logotypes (City of Ljubljana, European Green Capital, Ljubljana For You) is compulsory.

AWARDS
The author of the best poster will receive 3.000 EUR* from the City of Ljubljana and one full registration for the Golden Drum Festival 2017.
The authors of the second and third ranked posters will each receive one full registration for the Golden Drum Festival 2017.
These awards will be presented on stage at the Golden Drum Award Ceremony on October 21, 2016.
24 shortlisted posters will be exhibited from October 18 to 21, 2016 during the 23rd Golden Drum Festival.

Submit your work
Entries can be uploaded through our online registration system.
In any case, please make sure to follow technical instructions for submitting your entries as carefully as possible.
Technical requirements
One image file is required. Name the file same as entry's name.
All entries, submitted to the Golden Drum Off Drum Competition, will be shown for the judging and published in a showcase of entries on www.goldendrum.com. Finalists will be exhibited during the Festival. Entries will be screened at the award ceremony, should your entry be awarded.
