Background

From July 8-9, 2016, heads of state and government, top diplomats, military commanders, and other international leaders will convene at the NATO Summit in Warsaw, Poland to make decisions that will affect the global geopolitical and economic landscape. To leverage this opportunity, the Atlantic Council is organizing a Future Leaders Summit (FLS) that will convene exceptional young leaders thirty-five years old and younger from around the world alongside the official NATO Summit. This competition is geared towards rising leaders from Europe with an interest in international security and foreign affairs. The top rated submissions, as determined by popular voting, will receive an interview with Atlantic Council staff. The top ten finalists will be selected to host a public-facing event on the future of NATO and attend the Future Leaders Summit in July.
