Fully-funded PhD Studentship, Tallinn University of Technology
Applications are invited for a fully-funded, open to all nationalities (i.e. no EU residency-requirement being imposed) PhD student position in Dr. Pavel Starkov's group at the Department of Chemistry within Faculty of Science at Tallinn University of Technology with an intended start in late August/early September 2016.
The core work will be carried out at the Dept of Chemistry by using techniques and methods of synthetic organic and supramolecular chemistry as well as catalysis.
In addition to building up your synthetic skills, you will also be trained to develop expertise in chemical and cell biology and biochemistry through a collaboration with Dr. Pirjo Spuul at the Dept of Gene Technology. The close physical proximity of the Departments of Chemistry and Gene Technology will ensure high effeciency of your work. Our interdisciplinary approach lies at the interface of chemistry, materials science and cell biology, and constitutes a great value prospect for transitional synthetic chemistry.
The studenships are tax-free (approx. €1100 pcm+health insurance) and last upto 46 months. You will also be funded to present your work at international conferences/workshops and will be well positioned to take a fully-fledged internship/placement at a complimentary world-leading research institution of your choice (upto 12 m).
