Fulbright-IMéRA-Aix-Marseille Université Chair in Migration Studies 2018-2019, France

Conduct research in any discipline relating to migration studies at the Institut d'études avancées (IMéRA) of Aix Marseille Université in Marseille, France, and participate in one or two day-long seminars on campus on the theme of the research project.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is a public diplomacy initiative designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary research or teaching activities.
GRANT LENGTH: Ten months strongly preferred
GRANT DATES: Grants may begin any time after September 2018.

French language ability commensurate with the requirements of the project. When applicable, applicants should submit Part One (self-evaluation) of the Language Proficiency Report.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Open to academics only
STIPEND: €2,400 per month
 
ESTIMATED TRAVEL AND RELOCATION ALLOWANCE

International travel allowance provided for grantee only. All research scholars receive a travel allowance of €1,200.  

SPECIAL AWARD BENEFITS
  • Visa fees will be waived for Fulbright grantees and their accompanying dependents.
  • Expenses will be covered relating to the organization of on-campus academic events.
Please refer to the figures above for an estimate of Fulbright award benefits. Benefits may include a base stipend, living and housing allowances, and additional one-time allowances. Benefits may vary based on a scholar's current academic rank (or professional equivalent), the city of placement, the type of award (teaching, teaching/research, or research), and the number of and duration of stay of accompanying dependents. In most cases, dependent housing and living allowances will not be provided to Flex grantees. Final grant amounts will be determined prior to the start of the 2018-2019 academic year and are subject to the availability of funds. The United States Department of State reserves the right to alter, without notice, participating countries, number of awards and allowances.
