The purpose of the Visiting Scholar fellowships is to diversify the Armenian studies curricular offerings to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Michigan.

Visiting Scholars, who are usually invited for one semester (fall or winter), will be asked to teach one class, and to participate in the ASP sponsored events including presenting one public lecture. Fellowships can also be offered for mini-courses to be taught over three or four weeks. Preference will be given to candidates outside the disciplines of history, language, and literature. Previously awarded visiting scholars should wait 7 years before applying for this program again. The scope and number of fellowships awarded is contingent upon the availability of funds.

Fellowship applications for Visiting Scholars must be received by February 1, 2016. Applicants will be notified in March, 2016.

Application materials should include:

  1. Current CV
  2. Copy of work published or pending publication (if publications are not in English please provide a writing sample/paper in English)
  3. Description of possible courses the applicant proposes to teach (maximum 1 page per course)
  4. Two letters of recommendation
