About the fellowship
he initial tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor is for six years (§ 64 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Hessen (HHG)). Upon positive evaluation, the incumbent will be promoted to a permanent position at a higher level (W2 equivalent).
The position requires teaching Psychological Methods at the undergraduate and graduate level (Bachelor and Master in Psychology; uni- and multivariate statistics, quantitative research methods).
The successful candidate is expected to integrate modern statistical methods into psychological research, for example in the context of modelling behavior and cognition, the innovative use of big data sets, or the application of special statistical methods such as machine learning or neural networks. The qualification of the applicant is demonstrated by pertinent publications relating to quantitative methods.
Also, successful applicants should have demonstrated innovative applications of methods to substantive areas of Psychology in the sense of a modern ‚Computational Psychology’. Applicants are expected to contribute actively to interdisciplinary research. Conditions of employment are an outstanding doctorate in psychology or a related field, excellent didactic competence, an individual research profile, and relevant publications in international journals. Experience in acquiring external funding is of advantage.

HHG persons that obtained their PhD at Goethe University Frankfurt are not eligible to the position. The doctorate should not date back to more than four years and should be complemented by further scientific achievements.
