The annual MEMSA conference is the finale of the academic year. It welcomes postgraduate students and early career academics to Durham to present papers and discuss their research with their peers, promoting academic connectivity and collegiality, dialogue and debate. Each year, the conference has welcomed a wide variety of interesting and engaging postgraduate papers, and enjoyed the privilege of hearing internationally regarded keynote speakers.

Crossing Borders, Contesting Boundaries July 2021

MEMSA warmly invites applications to present at its 15th annual postgraduate conference.

Following on from the success of its 14th conference on the same theme, MEMSA’s Crossing Borders, Contesting Boundaries conference will be running as a digital event from Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st July. Papers will be presented as pre-recorded video presentations, allowing for the contribution and the participation of delegates from across the world.

We welcome applications for 15- to 20-minute papers exploring the theme of crossing borders and contesting boundaries in its broadest possible sense. To apply, please send a proposal of circa 250 words and a brief biographical statement to memsa.committee@durham.ac.uk by Friday 16th April.
