Cider Press Review is now accepting manuscript submissions for the 2016 Editors’ Prize Book Award.
The annual Cider Press Review Editors Prize offers a $1,000 prize, publication, and 25 author’s copies of a book length collection of poetry. Author receives a standard publishing contract. Initial print run is not less than 1,000 copies. Cider Press accepts submissions for the Editors Prize between April 1 and June 30 annually.
The winner is selected by the editors of Cider Press Review.

Submission Guidelines
Submit 48-80 pages of original poetry in English not previously published in book form (individual poems may have been previously published in journals, anthologies, and chapbooks). $25 entry fee required. BY SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT TO THE CIDER PRESS REVIEW BOOK AWARD AND REMITTING ENTRY FEE, THE AUTHOR AGREES TO BE BOUND BY OURTERMS AND CONDITIONS.

We encourage everyone to submit entries electronically using our free online submission system. Please note: Postmark or upload date are sufficient proof of deadline; expensive priority postage or overnight delivery are not necessary.
Book Awards
CPR offers two (2) book awards each calendar year, the Editors’ Prize in spring and the Cider Press Review Book Award in fall. Both contests judge manuscripts blindly. Authors are requested to remove all contact information from their manuscript submissions. Any author failing to remove contact information from their manuscripts forfeits their anonymity but is otherwise judged identically to any other entrant.

Author receives a standard publishing contract. Initial print run is not less than 1,000 copies. Cider Press accepts submissions for the Editors Prize between April 1 and June 30 annually.

Manuscript Format
All manuscripts should be typed, single-spaced, and paginated, and must include a title page listing ONLY the name of the manuscript.
Manuscripts must include a table of contents page(s), and an acknowledgments page listing previous publication credits. We strongly suggest authors place the manuscript name and page number in the header or footer of each page.
To submit manuscripts electronically:
- Complete the online form on the Book Award page (after Sept. 1), being careful to include all contact information: author’s name, address, phone number and email address. All communication about the book award will be sent to the submitted email address.
- All manuscripts must be in MS-Word for PC or .pdf format. Manuscripts in other or unreadable formats will not be considered.
- Upload your manuscript using the form on the Book Award page. DO NOT include the author’s name in the manuscript title.
- Manuscripts will be held pending receipt of the $25.00 entry fee. Authors are encouraged to use the PayPal link to pay via credit or debit card. Authors preferring to use a check or money order may send payment to the address below.
To submit manuscripts by mail:
- Manuscripts must be postmarked between April 1 and June 30 for the Editor’s Prize, and between September 1 and November 30 for the CPR Book Award. Manuscripts are eligible in either or both contest.
- Enclose 2 title pages: Name, mailing address, phone number, and email should appear on the first title page only. (Does not apply to electronically-submitted manuscripts, for which the entry from serves as cover sheet.)
- Mailed, hard-copy manuscript should be typed, single-spaced, paginated, and bound with a spring clip.
- Enclose SASE for announcement of the winner only; Manuscripts cannot be returned. Cider Press assumes no responsibility for damaged or lost manuscripts.
- Include a check or money order for $25.00 payable to Cider Press Review, or pay entry fee via PayPal.
