Call for proposals for short-term studies and research visits, in Lithuania, 2016-2017

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania is offering 3 types of scholarships for students, lecturers and researchers of foreign countries in the academic year 2016-2017:

Higher education institutions where Lithuanian (Baltic) studies can be arranged are: 

  • Vilnius university
  • Lithuania University of Educational Sciences
  • Vytautas Magnus University
  • Klaipėda University
  • Siauliai University

 

Lithuanian state scholarship programme does not provide scholarships to cover full degree studies, therefore normally an academic degree or diploma cannot be obtained during the period covered by the scholarship.

The study or research visit must take place from September 2016 to June/July 2017. The autumn semester in higher education and research institutions of Lithuania normally lasts from September until January and spring semester – from February until June. In order to arrange a study or research visit in Lithuania and receive an official letter of acceptance, a candidate is advised to contact directly the International Office of the chosen Lithuanian higher education institution. Here you can find the list of contact information of all Lithuanian higher education and research institutions. Information about studies and research possibilities for foreigners is available at Lithuanian institutions of higher education and research. 

1st of April, 2016 – the deadline for online application submission for all short-term studies and research visits. Also, note that applications with all additional documents should be sent by post to the institution mentioned in the table below not later than 1st of April, 2016, date as per postmark.

Belarus  10 months for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd study cycle students (minimum duration of studies – 5 months)       20 months (10 months for the 3rd study cycle students, 10 months form lecturers and researchers). Belgium (Walloon Region) 20 months for short-term studies in all fields including Lithuanian (Baltic) studies (duration of studies – from 3 to 10 months per person) and research visits (duration of research visit – from 1 to 5 months per person) Applications should be sent by post toWallonie – Bruxelles International (http://www.wbi.be).

 

 

 

Czech Republic  40 months (20 months for the 1st and 2nd study cycle students (duration of studies – 2 to 10 months per person)  and 20 months for the 3rd cycle students (duration of studies – 3 to 10 months per person).  4 months (duration of research visit – up to 1 month per person)            Applications should be sent by post to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (http://www.msmt.cz).

Poland 50 months (duration of studies – from 2 to 10 months per person) 30 months (duration of visit - from 1 to 10 months per person) Applications should be sent by post to the Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange (http://www.buwiwm.edu.pl).

 

 

Slovakia  25 months (for the 1st and 2nd study cycle students; duration of studies – from 3 to 10 months per person) 20 months      (for 3rd study cycle students and academic staff (duration of a study/research visit – from 3 to 10 months per person) Applications should be sent by post to the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic (http://www.minedu.sk).
