Application for the PhD program
The first step towards the PhD is to find a PhD supervisor. Please follow the link Research to gather information about the professors and research groups in Cologne. Please indicate which research group you want to join in your statement of purpose. It is also possible to submit your application documents directly to the professor or research group leader of your choice.
Please note that only complete applications will be considered.
Candidates should send the following documents to email@example.com
- Statement of purpose
- Curriculum Vitae
- Copies of all degrees/academic records (all certified)
- Proof of English language skills: minimum score 80 (TOEFL Internet-based Test)
or comparable proof
Furthermore, we require at least 2 letters of recommendation. Candidates should not send these letters themselves. We expect candidates to make sure that their referees provide these letters directly to us by email to firstname.lastname@example.org provided that they use their corresponding university/institute email account.
In most of the cases, PhD candidates can apply throughout the year (even if no PhD positions are advertised).
