About the #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards

Sport is fun, exciting and it brings people together. Sport is also based on fairness and respect – regardless of who you are and where you come from.

This makes it a powerful tool for breaking barriers and building a more inclusive society.

The European Commission #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards will recognise organisations using the power of sport to increase social inclusion for disadvantaged groups.

Join us!

An active and inclusive Europe

The ability of sport to break down barriers is increasingly being used as a powerful tool to bring together people from all kinds of backgrounds, and in particular from disadvantaged groups – and we want to celebrate this!

With your organisation, you may be working with ethnic minorities, refugees, people with disabilities, youth groups at-risk, or any other group that faces challenging social circumstances.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to advance your project and inspire others to support social inclusion with the power of sport.

Tell us how your organisation is helping their social integration through sport.

Ready, set, go!

The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards invites all organisations  in the European Union – public or private, commercial or not-for-profit – that have successfully developed sport projects aimed at social inclusion to enter their initiatives. Projects will be evaluated according to their impact, replicability and innovation.

Winning projects will be showcased to inspire other organisations and individuals around Europe – but sharing a project can earn much more than well-deserved recognition:

The winning projects will also be awarded €10,000!

The 3 winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on 22 November in Brussels, where they will also have the opportunity to present their projects to an audience of sport inclusion experts and receive their €10,000 awards.

Rules of the game

The call for entries is officially open from June 15 to September 15.

Entering the competition is easy. Simply start by compiling material to show the jury how your sport project is supporting social inclusion. You can include digital material, like photos and videos (5 minutes maximum), to show your project in action.

You should then include a written description of your project (3 pages maximum), including its mission and vision, showing how it meets the three evaluation criteria of the awards: impact, replicability and innovation. Entry forms should be completed in English.

Projects will be evaluated based on the degree to which they contribute to social inclusion through sport. Please do not submit projects that are still in the development phase and have not yet launched.

The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards are a unique opportunity to take your project to the next level.
