Registration now open for the International Cyber Security Summer School 2021

The International Cyber Security Summer School is preparing to open its doors, albeit virtually this year, for students looking for cyber security training this summer.

The International Cyber Security Summer School (ICSSS) is an annual summer school designed to give students insight into the inner workings of a cyber-security environment and how international organizations operate within this domain.

This summer school is aimed at students nearing the end of their studies, including PhD candidates, or those in the early stages of their cyber security career.

"Students who attend our cyber security summer school can look forward to receiving a wealth of knowledge, from some of the brightest cyber security experts during an intensive and engaging six-day programme. This unique summer school, covering a full spectrum of cyber security challenges, provides attendees a real opportunity and a springboard into a successful cyber security career," said Konrad Wrona, Principal Scientist, NATO Cyber Security Centre.

This year's event will take place during 22 to 27 August 2021 and is organized by The Hague Security Delta (HSD), NATO Communications and Information Agency, Europol, Leiden University, and many other supporting partners.

For the first time this year, the summer school will be hosted online and students will be required to have access to a laptop with a mic and camera.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, students will participate in online lectures instead of in-person ones. The course will include presentations from experts from international organizations specializing in cyber security.

During the summer school, students will virtually meet cyber security specialists working in their field of expertise. Attendees will work in diverse teams during the summer school, sharing knowledge and networking.

Students will face individual and group challenges throughout the week. They will also be required to give a presentation from a choice of topics provided.

Previous students who have attended these cyber security summer schools have gone on to work in some of the largest cyber security organizations in the world.

Applications for this year's ICSSS 2021 are open until 6 June 2021.
