93 youth teams from all the countries represented at the UN. Launching the network of young leaders. Strengthen a culture of peace. Inspired by Ubuntu philosophy. About major current world issues.

The first edition of Ubuntu United Nations is an initiative of Leaders Ubuntu Academy and of Ubuntu Global Network. It will promote the ethics of care, the building of bridges and servant leadership, following the Ubuntu philosophy and it will be implemented for young people and with young people from all parts of the world.

It is addressed to 193 youth teams from each country with seat in the United Nations (UN), particularly to 3 young people per country, with a strong commitment to serving their communities for the common good.

Chaired by José Ramos Horta (laureate with Nobel Peace Prize) and with the participation of John Volmink and Princess Rym Ali of Jordan as cochairs of the initiative, has already been confirmed the presence of some special guests including Nobel Peace Prize laureates, among other world leaders.

The first edition of Ubuntu United Nations will have English as its working language.

RECEIVERS

- Young people from 193 countries seated at the UN

- Aged between 18 and 35 years old, with a strong commitment to serving their communities for the common good

- With availability and willingness/spirit to fulfill the entire training program - Fluent in English (working language of the initiative)
- With capacity and availability to access to internet from a computer

FORM OF TRAINING ORGANIZATION

This initiative will take place in online format through the zoom platform.

DURATION AND IMPORTANT DATES

MAY 16th – Registration open
JUNE 30th – Registration closes
JULY 18th – Announcement of selected participants
SEPTEMBER 26th – Pre-event of Ubuntu United Nations (meeting of regional delegations)

Training program - 5 thematic seminars (5 hours per day) on Sunday

October 24th – Lead Like Mandela November 7th – Building Bridges November 21th – Overcoming Obstacles December 5th – Ubuntu Lives December 19th – I Have a Dream
