Winter School courses
Three different courses are organised during the Winter School. During the 1st week of the Winter School, the participants will concentrate on foundations in sport marketing, such as branding and consumer behavior in winter sport. The 2nd week’s primary focus is on sport event management with special interest in winter sport. Event management will be discussed from the viewpoints of different stakeholders who represent for example international events, volunteers, and the public sector. The course subjects will be discussed and applied to specific cases, with a particular focus on winter sports.
The third course is organised during both of the theoretical weeks. The students get to participate in traditional Finnish winter sports and this way experience the amazing Nordic nature and climate. Also, an attractive social programme will be organized, offering participants a possibility to network and to get to know some of the Finnish lifestyle and free-time activities.
The Winter School in Sport Sciences is conducted fully in English. The participants are required to have good skills in academic English. NOTE: When selecting the students to the Winter School, applicants wanting to participate in the whole programme (3 courses) will be preferred. It is not possible to take ONLY the Winter Sports module!
