The language of instruction will be English. In order to take advantage of the class, you should have at least a CEFR C1 level of English. If your English command is below that level, please do not apply.

Education

Regular candidates should be in their final year of an M.A. or in the first year of a PhD program related to translation, interpreting, and/or cognition. Other status and training backgrounds, however, are possible and will be assessed on a personal basis by the admission's committee.

Statement of purpose

This is a 700-1000 word-long letter of intent or research statement (references, if any, not included in word count). You should typically

     (1) introduce yourself, your interests and motivations, i.e., who are you and what do you want to do?

     (2) discuss the relevance of your recent and current activities—why are you the right candidate for the program? and

     (3) Develop your academic interests (what do you want to do in the future?)

The Summer School is a non-profit initiative of the Alma Mater Studiorum's MC2 Lab, and thus the tuition fees are only 425 € for regular attendees. EST members in good standing have a 50 € discount on tuition fees, so for them the registration if 375 €.* Please note that, once registered, refunds are only possible if a vacated place is taken by another applicant.
