The Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest
The Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest is an annual contest for young photojournalists aged between 18 and 33 years old. It is Russia’s only platform for discovering new photojournalists and for allowing them to make a name for themselves on the world photojournalism stage. In 2019 the contest set new record - around 6000 entries from 80 countries across five continents were submitted. The winning entries were exhibited around the world. In 2016 the exhibitions were run in Moscow, Istanbul, Cape Town, Cairo, Berlin, Shanghai, Rome, etc.

These Rules contain Contest procedures, selection criteria for Contest Entries and participation terms.
Purpose of the Contest
To develop and improve professional photojournalism in Russia and around the world.
Contest objectives
- To perpetuate the memory of Andrei Stenin, a Russian journalist and Rossiya Segodnya photo correspondent who was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage for the bravery and heroism he demonstrated in the performance of his professional duties.
- To support and promote high standards of photojournalism and documentary photography in Russia and around the world.
- To promote photography and raise public awareness about photojournalism.
- To support young photographers.
Contest categories:
1. Top News.
2. My Planet.
3. Sports.
4. Portrait. A Hero of Our Time.
The first, second and third place prizes will be awarded for a single Photo Image in each category and for a Series of photo images.
A Grand Prize shall be awarded for the best Contest Entry among Contest Participants in all categories, to be selected by a majority vote of the Jury.
In the event that no Photo Image submitted to the Contest complies with the Contest Rules, Winners and Runners-up will not be selected.
The Jury may award Honorable Mentions to not more than three Photo Images and not more than three Series in each category.
Apart from the main Contest categories, Users can vote online for Contest Entries of Winners, Runners-up and Photo Images awarded an Honorable Mention. A Contest Participant who gets the most User votes receives a Contest diploma.
